About Catty Young Women Initiative (CYoWI)

Our Story

Catty Young Women Initiative (CYoWI) is more than just an organization – it’s a movement fueled by the passion and determination of its founders. Recognizing the challenges faced by young women in Uganda, particularly those from urban poor and vulnerable communities, CYoWI was born out of a desire to create real, lasting change.

What keeps us going

Our Mission

At CYoWI, our mission is clear: to empower young women in Uganda to become successful entrepreneurs, leaders, and changemakers. Through training, mentorship, and access to resources, we aim to break down barriers and create pathways to economic independence and self-sufficiency.

About Catty Young Women Initiative (CYoWI)

Our Target

CYoWI targets women who are 18-35yrs. These women may be educated but not employed, educated but under employed, un educated with no defined means of survival or these may be school drop outs and lack necessary skills and resources to initiate and operate sustainable projects. Women’s empowerment through entrepreneurship is a powerful tool for creating a more equal society. By providing women with the tools and resources they need to start their own businesses, we can help them achieve financial independence, build self-confidence, and contribute to their communities in meaningful ways.
